Senior Timeline
Every event from Prom to Picnics
Attention Seniors!! The end of the year is coming sooner than you think. Aside from prom and graduation there are a multitude of senior events that you must attend. The dates of these events are not set in stone as teachers and students are still in the planning process.
Mandatory Class Meetings: There are two mandatory class meetings before the end of the school year held in the PAC that are led by Mrs. Spence and Mr. McCarthy. These meetings cover important topics like graduation, prom, fundraising, and the senior picnic.
Senior Prom: Open to all Battle seniors and their guests on April 23. In order to bring a guest you must register them in advance, and don’t forget to buy tickets because they aren’t selling them at the door. The theme of prom is Arabian Nights and the prom committee is working on decorations and the price of tickets.
All Night Senior Party: This is a night full of fun on May 21. There will be games, prizes, and dancing held at the Hearnes Center. All seniors in the Columbia Public School District are invited to join.
Senior Speeches Tryouts: If you would like to give a speech at Baccalaureate or Graduation you must first tryout in front of a panel of judges on May 4. Remember that this is the last impression you might make on your fellow classmates so be thoughtful and have fun!
Senior Class Picture: This is a group shot of ALL seniors! It’s on April 7 at 10 am. Don’t forget because they’re only taking it once!
Baccalaureate: In order to participate in Baccalaureate you MUST bring your cap and gown! Seniors meet in the PAC on May 15 at 6:30 and parents meet in the BHS Competition Gym. Baccalaureate kicks off the week of senior events. There will be speeches and throw backs.
This has proven to be a good time to take cap and gown pictures with family so dress nice!
Senior Awards Night: Seniors meet in the Competition Gym and parents gather in the PAC. This is where they present scholarships and academic awards. An award from each department will be presented to the student that all teachers in that department agreed on. Students that will be receiving an award or scholarship will be invited but all seniors are able to attend.
Senior Memories Assembly: Teachers will create a slideshow of the seniors throughout the year and it will be shown in the PAC to all the seniors. Later that day seniors will have a senior picnic at Stephen’s Lake park.
