Climate Change
Global warming is real, global warming is here. It was 80 degrees in November. Recently there has been a frost advisory issued by forecast.weather.gov. In November, there should be frost now. It should not be 30 or 40 degrees in the morning but in the afternoon it be 70 degrees or above.
You’re still in disbelief? The ocean is 6.7 inches higher than it was in 1969. Planet Earth is 71% water while 96.5% of that water is in the oceans. When 68% of the Earth’s water has risen 6.7 inches in less than 50 years, that is caused by something. That means there has been a significant decrease in land based ice, such as glaciers.
You may be thinking, “Ah, that’s just malarkey. That’s to get us to quit driving cars and be less wasteful.” Well, it’s not malarkey, it’s not only the sea levels rising but also the acidity of the ocean rising. This is making the environment uninhabitable by sealife.
Since the industrial revolution, humans created about 29 gigatons of carbon dioxide. The ocean is absorbing 2 billion tons of that each year.
Not only has the rising level of acidity in the ocean been caused by carbon dioxide but it has also increased the temperature of the ocean. The ocean’s top layer, at 2,300 feet, has increased its temperature by 32.54 degrees since 1969.
There has been an alarming increase in global temperature since 1969. The global temperature has gone up 33 degrees.
If you don’t think Global Warming is happening, take a look around you. Just feel the temperature, and think about how unnatural feeling November was.
