Battle vs Jackson Week 5 Preview

Its Homecoming Week which also means its another football week, this week will look to be one of Battles toughest matchups of the season as the 3-1 Spartans play at home against the undefeated 4-0 Jackson Indians.

The Spartans are coming off a record breaking game, the Spartans scored a score record 87 points in the teams 87-39 win over the 1-3 Harrisonville Wildcats. The scoring came from everywhere last week, Sophomore Daleshaun Coleman tied the football record for most rushing touchdowns in a game last week with five. The defense was able to get many stops on its end and grab two scoop and scores from Senior Chase Anderson and Junior Elijah Owens, even the special teams were able to get a score from Junior Tavian Miller who returned a kickoff 96 yards. If the offense can keep scoring the way they do and the defense can get their stops, the Spartans will be able to stop the very powerful Indians.

The Jackson Indians are coming into this game with a 4-0 record and coming off a big 56-14 win over Sikeston High School, the Indians have proved this season that they can score the football, the Indians are averaging 45.5 points per game this season and their defense has proved that they can keep the opposing teams out of the endzone as their defense is only allowing seven points per game.

The Indians and Spartans have a huge past, the Indians and Spartans have already played each other three times before, the Indians have the advantage as Indians defeated the Spartans in Battles first year as a team 48-19, and also in 2014 62-34, but the Spartans got the last laugh as they defeated the Indians at the Mayhem at the Zou event at Faurot Field 42-20 in Week 1 of the 2015 season.

The theme for this game is a Gold Out so wear as much gold as you can, Go Spartans.
