Battle vs Fort Osage State Semifinal Preview!

The round of eight teams is over, the final four begins and the 8-4 Spartans will travel on the road to face against the 8-4 Fort Osage Indians.

The Spartans are coming off of what people would call an “upset” over the 10-2 Fort Zumwalt North Panthers, the game began with two td runs from Panthers senior RB Jaylin Vaughn the 6’1 260 lb monster seemed unstoppable the first two drives, however the defense was able to make stops the rest of the game with a strip fumble recovery from Junior Cornerback Trevonne Hicks who would take it 78 yards for a Spartan Touchdown, halftime the Spartans were down 12-14 but were able to score the games final two touchdowns in the final half to pull off the upset 26-14, the defense must be able to make stops over this Indians offense.

The Indians are coming off of knocking out the defending state champions from last season, the 9-3 Staley Falcons 33-3. The Indians defense was explosive all game as they sacked the Falcons Quarterback 10 times and had a pick six and two fumble recoveries for touchdowns. The offense must score on this Spartans defense if they want to keep it close as the Spartans offense can put up a ton of points as they have showed all season long.

The Indians and Spartans have faced off only once before when it came in the 2015 State Semifinals three years ago, the Spartans were not able to do much as the Indians thrashed the Spartans 49-12 to advance to the state championship and would go on to win it over the Chaminade Red Devils 63-28.
