1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is the greatest Christmas movie of all time because it is hilarious. The movie has non-stop laughs from start to finish. The story follows Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase, a father trying tirelessly to make the best Christmas for his family. The simple plot helps support the comedic scenes and keeps the audience along for the ride. The featured actors, Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, and Randy Quaid do a great job of making the absurdity fun. You can’t help but smile when you see the actors on screen.. The movie also has a great theme that family comes first which makes the whole movie so much better. It’s hard to hate National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation because of what the actors and comedy bring to the table, which makes it the greatest Christmas movie of all time.

2. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
Home Alone is a great movie. It set up the Character of Kevin Macalister and his adventures when his family forgot him on Christmas. While Home Alone is a good Christmas movie, Home Alone 2 ups the stakes and builds on the background of the original. The movies plots are pretty much the same but what makes Home Alone 2 better was New York City. The movie is set in New York City which allows more traps and punishments that Kevin Macalister can use against Harry and Marv. The stakes are bigger which allows Home Alone 2: Lost in New York to be one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time.

3. A Christmas Story
What makes a Christmas Story so great is how iconic it is. From the leg lamp to the phrase “You’ll shoot your eye out,” the movie is full of great moments. The plot follows a young boy named Ralphie and all he wants for Christmas is a Red Rifle beebee gun. Throughout the film he engages in shenanigans in order to convince someone to get him the gun. The plot isn’t strong but it leads to lots of great moments and hilarious scenes. The relatable characters and the comedy makes this a great Christmas movie

4. Jingle All the Way
Jingle all the way is a great Christmas movie filled with a lot of of dumb fun. The movie has a great cast, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger who makes the movie a very enjoyable time.. Schwarzenegger plays a dad just trying to get a Turbo Man toy for his son. This leads to a lot of crazy situations that make for good Christmas fun. It’s a perfect laugh out loud movie and great movie for the holidays.

5. Home Alone
Although I think Home Alone 2 is a better movie than the first one, Home Alone is still a very good Christmas Movie. The movie has the same plot as Home Alone 2 except it is set in Kevin’s house in Chicago. The two bad guys, Harry and Marv, are still as funny as they are in the sequel and the traps Kevin set up are still fun to watch. It has a great message in the end and it truly is a great Christmas movie.

6. Elf
Elf is a fun family Christmas movie. Will Ferrell is great as Buddy the Elf. He is able to play a child like character and while not being annoying. The movie is based on Buddy going to New York and trying to find his dad. He is used to the elf life in the North Pole, so a lot of human things are new to him. This leads to a lot of great moments in the movie that are very quotable. Elf is a fun holiday movie and great for the whole family.

7. A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol is a classic Christmas movie. It was one of the first Christmas movies ever made and it stands the test of time. The movie is about a man who hates people and Christmas. He likes being alone. He is visited by three ghosts of Christmas, Past, Present, and Future, who try to change his ways. This plot has been done time and time again by many tv shows and the movie has been remade many times but the 1951 version is the best because of the great acting and how classic it is.

8. Scrooged
This movie has the same plot as the Christmas Carol, but makes it into a comedy. The movie was hilarious from start to finish, with a lot of great scenes in it. They don’t shy too far away from the plot which makes the story stay on track. The actors in the movie also do a great job of portraying the characters, with Bill Murry being a standout in the movie. The movie is great and will be a good watch for your family this Christmas.

9. Deck the Halls
Although a lot of people dislike this movie, I think it’s a very funny movie and a good watch. The movie stars Danny Devito, who plays a man who wants his house to be seen from outer space, so he buys a lot of Christmas lights to try to get that done. This upsets his neighbor Matthew Broderick and they get into a rivalry that leads to a lot of crazy situations. The movie is really funny and Devito and Broderick do a great job acting. It has a good message in the end and is a fun watch.

10. Frosty the Snowman
Frosty the Snowman is a great animated Christmas movie. It has a simple plot of kids turning a snowman into a walking, talking snowman. This movie is fun to watch with kids and is truly a great film that has stood the test of time. It has a great story and should be a must-watch this holiday season.
