National School Library Month

The month of April is National School Library Month and our librarians here at Battle have taken the time to celebrate!

This month is being kicked off by having students fill out forms on their reading challenges for this month. Students that do so will be automatically entered into a raffle where they can win all kinds of fun and exciting prizes. Another way you can be entered into the raffle is if you return any overdue books that you have and there are currently 1,958 overdue materials from Battle’s library, that’s a lot of books!

StuCo spirit week will also be included in this month-long celebration, here are all the ways to celebrate this week (April 19th-23rd). Monday: Wear your college gear because reading brings a bright future! Tuesday: Crazy sock day to go crazy for books! Wednesday: Bring your own book to school for independent reading day! Thursday: Take a selfie with your favorite book! Friday: Bring your favorite hats for hats off to reading day!

Reading is also being celebrated at Battle by having a door decoration competition amongst the Freshmen advisories. The doors will be based on the Freshmens’ favorite book or their favorite series of books. This will be an all-week project and then on Friday the 23rd, a panel of judges will decide which Freshmen advisory is the best by awarding points.

Finally, at the end of this month, take the time to reflect on your reading goal you had at the beginning of April and assess your progress.
