Mcdonalds is finally here! New McDonalds opens on Battle Crossing across the road from Sonic, and subway the only contesting fast food restaurants in the area. This location is convenient as it’s the Third fast food restaurant reachable to the students that go to battle as going any further than this location often risks being late to class. Senior, Carl Aaron says “I’m really glad the new location opened so we have more options open for lunch without having to drive ten to fifteen minutes away making it almost impossible to not be tardy for my Advisory class.”
Excitement for this McDonald’s has been expressed throughout the students of Battle. With lines often to the door and the crowd being so big once someone gets inside, it’s often hard to grab one’s food. Senior Breleigh Moore says about the crowds, “The amount of people getting food in the building is crazy. People often crowd around where my friends and I need to grab our food, forcing us to almost shove people aside just to grab a bag.”
A good way to avoid the crowds at the newly opened Mcdonalds is by putting your order ahead of time through their app. Senior Ben Monroe states, “I have been waiting for this Mcdonalds ever since I saw it being built, and after the location opened I’ve gone to the location almost every day for lunch for the first week it was open. I’ve found it faster to order ahead of time by putting in my usual order for two Big Macs and a Caramel Frappe before I even get out of the school building.”
Yet senior Noah Sill brings up a point when asked about his thoughts about the new location. “Though I love the new options for food during lunch, I have seen a concerning amount of increased trash in our parking lot. A lot of empty McDonald’s cups and bags have been scattered across the parking lot.”
