The Battle Men’s basketball team has started their season with an 11-4 record in their first fifteen games. They have also won their first two conference games over Smith-Cotton and Rock Bridge. Battle basketball has been getting recognized for their success this season being ranked No. 19 in Missouri, according to Max Preps, and No. 6 in the Missouri class 6 rankings according to the MBCA coaches poll.
The Battle basketball team has had some big moments this season winning both the Troy Buchanan Tournament and the Holley division of the William Jewell tournament. On December 13, Battle played Miller Career Academy, Battle basketball was down 78-63 with two minutes and fifteen seconds left, and things were looking grim but an 18-2 run from Battle basketball tied the game up 80-80 with ten seconds to go but an and-one from Miller Career Academy, but when they missed the free throw the score was 82-80 Miller Career Academy with 3.9 seconds a full court buzzer beater shot from the opposite three-point line by Jack Putnam gave Battle basketball the 83-82 win. Battle beat their crosstown rivals Rock Bridge at home 71-55 after losing to them twice last season, 21 points from Vernell Holt Jr. and 15 points from Ke’Shun Jackson helped Battle basketball get the win.

On February 25, Battle basketball will play their final home game against Jefferson City who is ranked number 10 in class 5 in the MBCA coaches poll, with a 12-3 record. Battle already beat Jefferson City once this season 102-74 led by 26 points from Brandon Rooks, in the Troy Buchanan Tournament.
