With winter sports coming to an end, spring sports are in full swing. This spring is a big one for the Battle Baseball program after a rough 2024 season. Battle baseball finished the 2024 season with an 8-24 record.
Battle Baseball will start the 2025 season on March 21 in the St.Charles West tournament versus Liberty (Wentzville). Battle Baseball will play its home opener and also its conference opener versus Helias on April 1. Battle will play all three of their crosstown rivals this season: Hickman on April 23 Battle lost to Hickman 7-1 last year, Rock Bridge on April 30 Battle lost to Rock Bridge 11-0, and Tolton on March 9 this year will be the first time Battle will Play Tolton in the Regular Season. Battle had a 2-4 record in conference play last season with a 9-8 extra innings walk-off win versus Jeff City and an extra innings 4-2 win over Capital City. And losses to Rock Bridge, Helias, Hickman, and Smith-Cotton.
Battle baseball returns six starters and four seniors: Brayden Groseclose, Kaden Montague, Jack Putnam, and Ryan Gandara. Battle also returns all four starting pitchers: Tyler Putnam, Brayden Groseclose, Jack Putnam, and Brady Crites. Three spartans were selected for All-conference and All-District honors, and two are returning: Tyler Putnam and Brayden Groseclose.
You can catch nine home games at Battle this season: Helias on April 1, Cap City on April 9, Smith-Cotton on March 6, Tolton on March 9, Camdenton on March 13, and Mexico on March 16. Battle will host Blair Oaks on April 17, Fort Zumwalt West, and Platte County on April 18 in the Columbia tournament.
