Student of the Month: Tatiana Winters
Junior Tatiana Winters, a saxophone and clarinet playing book lover, is a well-deserved candidate for student of the month. “I was surprised that I won, given that there are so many people in this school,” she states. “I feel honored because I was doing what I normally do, so to have that notice made me feel special.” Tatiana is the ideal candidate for this award. She is known to be respectful to fellow students and faculty at Battle. She says others will always see her in class taking notes and making sure her work is accurate. Junior year can be one of the most stressful years of high school due to all the needed classes you have to take to get required credits, but Tatiana has gone above and beyond expectations of teachers in her attitude and academic success. When asked how her junior year was going and how she handles it she stated that, “at first I had signed up for certain classes but I ended up not getting them. I’m still having a good time in some of them though. Even if I don’t like a class or I’m not happy with something I’m always respectful and pay attention. That’s why I think I’m deserving of this award.” Whether it’s in the classroom taking notes, or in the band room playing saxophone and clarinet, Tatiana Winters has set expectations for “The Student of The Month” award. Every Spartan is setting the bar higher and higher, and this month the award couldn’t have been given to a better candidate.
