Battle For The Ages
April 29, 2016
Once a year since 2014, the spartan parents host a fundraiser called Battle for the Ages. The event includes three main events including Battle Bistro, Spartan Sprint, and the Spartan Scramble.
Sherry Colwell, who assists in coordinating the event, says “it’s a major fundraiser with huge undertaking which takes all year to plan it.”
The first event is Battle Bistro, where participants attend a meal with a variety of foods from different restaurants. It’s held at Elk’s Lodge on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 6 p.m.
The ticket prices are: single for $50, couple for $90, and student/faculty/ staff $30. With each full- price ticket bought is eligible for an entry into a $1000 drawing. You can save $5 per ticket if purchased by March 1st.
Colwell says she enjoys the event and hopes that people choose to attend. “I really enjoy the Bistro because of the great food and the auction is fun” said Colwell.
Next up is the Spartan Sprint, a 5-K walk which is going to be held at Battle High Saturday April 30, 2016 at 8 a.m. Runners will receive a t-shirt and a post-race refreshment. The entry fee is $20 per runner. Prizes will be awarded to first place female and first place male.
And finally there’s the Spartan Scramble, a four- person golf tournament held at the Lake of the woods golf course Saturday April 30, 2016 at 8 a.m. You will receive lunch and you also have the chance to win the coveted Spartan Cup along with many other prizes.
