There are so many fun things to do in the month of October, leading up to Halloween. Most enjoy the changing weather, the leaves changing in color, and the kids running around in costumes. One may ask, what are we going to do? There are so many alternate things that we may do to fill in for trick-or-treating.

Carving pumpkins is a fun activity that everyone can enjoy. Many students get together with friends and carve pumpkins and even roast pumpkin seeds.

Many people enjoy going to corn mazes, numerous people attend Shryocks, or the maze at the pumpkin festival.

There is also the Pumpkin Festival that happens every year in Hartsburg, Missouri. Some activities at the festival include a corn maze, pumpkin picking, food trucks, and a variety of different shops. Lots of families go every year to enjoy these activities.

There is the obvious tradition of handing out treats on Halloween night is always a fun thing to do. Seeing what costumes there are and seeing the look on the trick-or-treaters faces is always a fun way to spend your evening. For those who are looking to hand out candy, make sure the trick-or-treaters know to come to your house by turning on porch lights and hanging up decorations.

If you don’t want to spend your night filling children’s bags with candy, you could stay on the couch and watch scary movies with friends. Eating popcorn and enjoying a movie is always the way to go.

Hosting your own Halloween party could also be another enjoyable thing to do this season, bobbing for apples, hayrides, and pumpkin carving. Inviting friends to enjoy the lovely month of October and all the fun things in it.
