The definition of a good song has changed throughout the years. With huge artists hitting the top charts in the US in the past like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, Madonna and many more. These are the top five hot songs of this week according to the Billboard charts.

Up at number one, ‘Drivers License’ by Olivia Rodrigo. A song that rose to popularity through the application Tik Tok. Sitting at number one for 6 weeks straight. This song is yet another power pop break up song. 

At number two, ‘34+35’ by Ariana Grande. A very up beat song with a very catchy chorus. Also rose to popularity through Tik Tok, the track can be found in Ariana’s 6th album ‘Positions’, a very awaited album for the fans. 

Number three, ‘Calling My Phone’ by Lil Tjay featuring 6LACK. A Cam Busby-directed music video for “Calling My Phone” has collected more than 16 million views on YouTube since it premiered on February 12.

At number four, ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weekend. Which not only sat in the top US charts for 63 weeks, but also became the fastest song to reach 2 billion Spotify streams. Also having sold over 6.5 million units in the US. 

And lastly, at number five, ‘Up’ by Cardi B. Having been released on Feb 5th, 2021, Cardi B’s “Up” debuted at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart, earning 20.4 million streams and more than 34,000 downloads.
