The 2026 season has not been a winning season, but they still have a lot of hope of winning games and improving. Each teammate interviewed is focused on improving by having more practices and not missing any, also by getting better at skills.
“What I’ve noticed is that the experience has been pretty good for most people, even though we’re losing, which can be difficult, but I do think we’re able to have a culture and a dynamic where even when we’re losing, even when we’re having like a rough day, we don’t give up” Maggie Beem said, English teacher and coach for girl’s soccer and basketball.
This soccer team is an opportunity to get to the field and learn a sport, have training lessons, make friends, and learn something new each day. Girls soccer has been trying their best and making as many goals as possible. Even though they have been losing games, they have been trying as hard as they can to have a positive and mature mindset to keep supporting each other.
Kimberly Caudillo is a junior and plays varsity. Her position is left wing, and her responsibility is to provide width and pass the ball to make goals.
“I joined soccer for the experience, and I really enjoy it and also would like to continue playing in college because it’s really fun, and teammates make it more fun, but if we have more trainings I think our team would be improving more which we are so that’s good,” Caudillo said.
Battle girls soccer has had 13 games so far and each time they improve.
Soccer is a serious sport that many people take their time to get better each day also by making sure to have an extremely active athletic life and to improve their physical health, and improve their skills, being involved in real-life events.
Josie Ameh is a junior at battle and her position is mixed field. The responsibilities to this position is to defend and attack and control the pace of the game.
“I feel like people underestimate us because even though we’ve lost a few games. Doesn’t mean we’re bad. We just need a little bit more practice and we’re gonna get there,” Ameh said.
The Soccer Girls team has been improving. They just had a game with Hickman which was tied. That shows how much they have been improving towards the season and how everyone is not giving up and is still showing up to practice. They are persistent.
