Student of the Month: Austine Renner
The junior student of the month for November is Austine Renner. Although shy upon first meeting, she is actually really funny and has a great personality. When asked why she thinks she won she said “I am really determined to do well in school, and always get my homework done, and pay attention in class.” Not only is she a determined learner, but she is also part of AVID. She feels that being part of AVID pushes her to try hard and get her work done. “Without AVID, I procrastinated and did everything last minute, but AVID gives you the tools to get things done on time.” Austine is very intelligent and determined she is also part of Model UN, and SAPS. Being part of Model UN, there is a lot of work you to do at home, when asked how she balances everything, all she said was “School comes first. Then Model UN last.” Her parents didn’t know she won, but she said when they find out, they will be very proud, “they might go over board and make tee shirts.” For Austine, the student of the month award is a big deal because it’s not peer voted it is teacher voted, and teachers nominate those students they see doing well.
